| During the
planning and budgeting phase in the development
of our new hospital facility, the indoor recreational
swimming pool was dropped from the project in
order to bring our construction cost down.
The recreational swimming pool in our old facility
was opened to the disabled public for swimming
sessions when it was not being used for therapy
sessions. Unfortunately, the size of our new
therapy pool doesn't allow us to schedule any
internal or external recreational swimming.
The concept plan for our indoor recreational
swimming pool calls for a 6,200 square foot
facility. The building will be a steel frame,
masonry structure with a colorful design to
match our new hospital facility.
The pool will be 4 feet deep and 25 feet by
50 feet with lifts and ramps for entering the
pool. The building will include men's and women's
dressing rooms, office, laundry/work room and
storage room for pool equipment. Skylights and
window walls will provide natural light to the
pool area. The pool and pool deck will be heated
for year around use.
